Results of Complaint Investigations
Posted on June 11, 2010Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 ("IDEA"), any person may file a written complaint against any public school district, community school, or other local educational agency (collectively LEAs) alleging that the LEA is not in compliance with federal or state laws or rules regarding the education of students with disabilities. The Ohio Department of Education, Office for Exceptional Children ("OEC"), then investigates these complaints. At the conclusion of its investigation, OEC issues a letter of findings responding to the allegations in the complaint. The information posted in this database includes all letters of findings and corrective action plans issued after March 1, 2010. As required by federal law, all personally identifiable student information has been redacted.
